Delta Groove’s expansion into Publicity & Promotion has got off to a great start with the release of this hot and soulful set by Markey Blue – who in (Jeanette) Markey have a huge talent both as a vocalist and a songwriter plus a horn-fuelled band steeped in the Stax and Memphis traditions.
The set opens with the Memphis inflected ‘When Love Comes along (HeyHey)’ where Markey’s “red hot and soulful” vocals are underpinned by a grooving horn section and Ric Latina’s fiery guitar best ed pills non prescription. Latina again impresses as his brooding guitar echoes Markey’s deeply soul infused vocals on ‘I Can’t Let You Go’ – whilst on ‘Something’s Wrong’ sultry vocals and guitar are complemented by Stax inflected horn charts.
‘Feeling Blue’ finds Markey’s mesmerising vocals underpinned by baying horns and B3 with Latina’s guitar weaving a web of blues as it crawls all over the mix – ‘Flames’ is seriously funky mining a precocious groove deep into your soul – whilst ‘Another Lover’ finds Markey’s breathy and overtly sexual vocals making “audio-love” to you.
Add in the salacious grooves of the lowdown and dirty ‘Voodoo Do’ and the torchy soul of ‘With You’ and you have a set that can’t fail to impress.
